Sarah Dessen • Children’s author • Saturday, May 9
Kids Ink Bookstore in cooperation with Glendale Public Library will host a book signing for the acclaimed and prolific author Sarah Dessen in conjunction with her latest release Saint Anything.
Saturday, May 9 at 2:30pm
Glendale Public Library
6101 N Keystone Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46220
Saint Anything is Dessen’s twelfth novel. It follows Sydney, a girl nearly lost in her older brother’s shadow. Peyton, the golden child of the family, monopolizes all the attention and praise until he crashes a car and gets arrested. Now he’s monopolizing all the family’s concern, and as adrift as Sydney feels, she also wonders how the victim is recovering. Her investigation leads her to the Chathams, an engaged and generous bunch that’s everything Sydney’s wanted.
Sarah Dessen’s life centers around Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She moved there from Illinois as a little girl, attended UNC-Chapel Hill until she graduated with highest honors, and stayed around to wait tables and write novels. While good at both, she ultimately decided to focus on her writing, and her legions of fans are happy she made this choice. Starting with That Summer, Dessen has published a dozen young-adult novels. Dessen didn’t start with the intent of writing YA fiction, she just wants to write what will speak to readers at a time in their lives when Dessen remembers feeling the strongest need to connect.
The event consists of a short reading followed by author signing. Space will be limited and seating organized as first-come-first-served. No reservations are available, so the public is advised to arrive early to guarantee a spot.
Kids Ink will have copies of Sarah Dessen’s books available for purchase. For more information on the signing itself, please call our store at (317) 255-2598.
