Preschool Storytime
May 1, 15, 22 & 29 | 10:30 AM
Preschoolers ages 3 – 6 and an adult are invited for crafts, sensory building, literacy skills, science and technology exercises and more.
Paws to Read
May 1 | 6:00 – 7:00 PM (Call 317-275-4320 to register)
School-aged children who are beginning or reluctant readers are invited to read to a non-judgmental registered therapy dog who loves to listen to stories. It’s a great way to improve a child’s reading skills and self-confidence.
Mother Goose on the Loose
May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30 & 31 | 10:30 AM
Babies, toddlers and preschoolers and an adult are invited for an early literacy program using rhymes, songs, puppets and instruments to foster speech development, motor coordination, self-confidence and sensitivity to others. Adult participation is required.
Lemonade University
May 2 | 6:00 – 8:00 PM (Call 317-275-4320 to register)
School-age children are invited to learn the basics of running a business – their own lemonade stand! All participants who successfully complete Lemonade University will be prepared to participate in Lemonade Day 2018. The Library will also have a drawing for a limited number of participants to open their own Lemonade Cafe in the College Avenue Branch! Job Center at the Library

The Library presents a free service for unemployed or underemployed individuals to receive one-on-one assistance to enhance their employment skills. The session will focus on job search strategies, interviewing skills, resume development, and instruction on basic computer skills. The Job Center is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
Macrame Bracelet Class for Kids
May 7 | 3:30 PM (Call 317-275-4320 to register)
Children ages 6 and older are invited to use cotton fibers or paracord to create colorful patterned bracelets for themselves or as a gift. They’ll discover knot-tying techniques that can be used to create wall hangings, rugs, key chains and other pieces of functional art. This 60-minute program is presented by Art With a Heart.
Dinosaur Art: Preschool Art Workshop

Preschoolers are invited to make a prehistoric creation during this program led by the Art Lab. Those attending will listen to a story and create their own masterpiece! This program is made possible by Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation.
How Zebra Got Her Stripes and Other African Folktales

Preschool through 2nd graders and their families are invited as the Marian University Theatre presents “How Zebra Got Her Stripes and Other African Folktales” by K.D. Steege, a 35-minute production based on tales from Africa.
Pajama Storytime

Families with children ages 3 – 8 are invited for a fun-filled storytime featuring music, stories and a craft. Children can wear their pajamas!
