Meet Our New Executive Director – Kristin Toner

Meet Kristin Toner

If Kristin Toner looks familiar, it’s because she’s been serving as MKNA’s Zone 4 representative for three years. After working with her, the board decided she’d be a great choice to handle our organization’s day-to-day business as Executive Director!

The 8-year Meridian-Kessler resident has worked in the fine arts for over 15 years, most recently as Assistant Artistic Director for the Indianapolis Ballet. “Choosing to live in Meridian-Kessler was an obvious choice upon returning to Indianapolis after living out of state,” Kristin told us. “My husband and I wanted to build our family in a neighborhood where we could walk to dinner, and where our kids would have the opportunity to ride their bikes to school. We frequently use the Red Line and love taking long walks through the neighborhood.”

What Committees or Events do you support in your role on the board?

MK Shines, Street Parties, Home Tour, Zone Representation

What does MKNA do that you’re excited or passionate about?

I love that we give back to our community and neighbors through our Grants program. The funds are raised through the Home Tour each fall, and given back each spring!

I also love that we are able to advocate on behalf of our neighbors to the city.

What’s your favorite spot or thing to do in MK?

Taking long walks – either on the Monon or on quiet streets.

What do you do for fun?

I own a stationery business with my sister. Crafting and creating is the best way to spend an afternoon!
